Census data is important but rarely exciting; however, the most recent Census Bureau report of Fastest-Growing Large Cities Since the 2010 Census revealed that Austin has moved from 14th to 13th in total population overtaking San Francisco.
According to the report, Texas had eight of the 15 most rapidly growing large cities (100,000+) between April 1, 2010 and July 1, 2011. In fact, Austin ranked #3 and Round Rock made the list cracking the 100,000 mark and ranked #2.
