In a nod to Austin’s promising economic future, Austin-based Endeavor Real Estate Group and Granite Properties plan to start construction soon on a 220,600-square foot office campus in northwest Austin — the first major office project to launch in the area in almost five years.

Apple broke ground on the first phase of its $304 million expansion project on 38.8-acre campus in Northwest Austin. The three-story office building will span 200,000 square-foot and is expected to be completed by 2015. By 2021, an additional 800,000 square feet of space is expected to be built spread out over several buildings.

River Place Corporate Park
VMware Inc. leased 50,000 square feet at River Place Corporate Park, 6500 River Place Blvd., for a second location. Other tenants of River Place include Motorola, ShoreTel and Edge of Reality. Headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif., VMware Inc. opened its first Austin office in 2006 and employs about 500 workers.

Riverplace Medical Plaza
Austin-based developer, Onair Development, which specializes in medical offices, has broken ground on Riverplace Medical Plaza – a three-story, 35,000 square-foot building located at 6611 Riverplace Blvd. in northwest Austin. According to state filings, the cost of construction is estimated at $2.8 million. Tenants will include imaging, urgent care, pain management, physical therapy and others. Completion is scheduled for mid-2013.

Independence Title Co. purchased 5900-2 Shepherd Mountain Cove. The 45,000-square-foot office building in Northwest Austin will serve as the company’s corporate headquarters starting in 2013.

The Shops at Ladera Bend
Live Oak-Gottesman LLC purchased The Shops at Ladera Bend (7300 RM 2222) in Northwest Austin from Wells Fargo on Friday for an undisclosed amount.
Live Oak-Gottesman plans to lease and manage the property. Retail spaces ranging from around 1,050 square feet to 13,000 square feet are available for lease. Current tenants include Collins Endodontics and Anytime Fitness.
