IKEA to expand Round Rock store

IKEA announced plans Wednesday to grow its store in Round Rock by 54,000 square feet. The store will expand to 306,900 square feet from the original 252,000 square feet at the time of opening in November 2006. Construction will begin this month and should be completed by summer 2012.

South Lamar shopping center gets remodeled

2300 S Lamar

2300 South Lamar, a shopping center south of Oltorf Street in South Austin, has received a facelift.  The remodeling is part of an effort to reposition the shopping center as a more trendy specialty shop destination.  Symcox Development was in charge of renovating the full exterior of the 14,570 square foot building.

Egg & I coming to North Austin

North Austin is getting a new spot to order its eggs over easy. Colorado-based breakfast restaurant The Egg & I is opening its first Austin location sometime in late 2011 or early 2012 in a 3,600-square-foot space in Northcross Center at 2525 W. Anderson Lane.

Details emerge for Lamar Plaza redevelopment

A site plan filed at Austin City Hall contains new details about the planned redevelopment of Lamar Plaza, which is home to iconic businesses such as the South Austin Gym, Alamo Drafthouse and The HighBall nightclub.  The shopping center was built in the 1950s and sources said that when it’s redeveloped, Alamo Drafthouse and The Highball will have newer — possibly larger — homes.  …Read Entire Post
